Sarah Levy is an artist living in Portland, Oregon. She has not studied art in school but has taken classes with local artists Jesse Reno and Phil Sylvester. She has been drawing realistic portraiture since 2013 and painting abstractly since 2016 and has shown at PSU’s Littman White Gallery as well as coffee shops around Portland. In 2015, using her own menstrual blood and a tampon, she painted the portrait “Whatever” (Bloody Trump), which quickly went viral and was covered by major news sources around the globe. Charcoal, however, continues to be her preferred medium.
Kiran Adarkar is a pianist and organist and will be playing live from about 9pm-10:30pm. He has studied at the USC Thornton School of Music and Portland State University. His influences include Barry Harris, Tom Harrell, Billy Higgins, and Cedar Walton.
We are happy to showcase the work of Sarah Levy for the entire month of May at Tattoo 34. All pieces will be available for sale through out the month of May.
