Tattoo Pricing & that Process

What to expect: tattoo pricing, consultations, deposits, and tipping.

Pricing for our tattoo shop.

We accept cash, cards, and Tattoo 34 gift cards.

To purchase a Gift Card come visit the shop, or for an instant eGift card buy here. To check your balance of an already purchased card, check here.

We have (at least) a $100 shop minimum and our tattoo artists charge by the hour or per session. Some tattoo artists have higher minimums, and use day rates or session fees. See specific pricing for each tattoo artist on their own page.

“Minimum” means: no matter how small your tattoo is or how quickly it is completed, it will cost this flat rate. If your design request is larger than the size of a quarter, expect to pay more.

Quote.

To get an accurate price quote, if a tattoo artists books (schedule) is open, fill out the tattoo project request booking form and the tattoo artist will get back to you with a quote, if the project is right for them. We do not give quotes on DM’s, over the phone, or email. Our tattoo artists need to know your design details, style, placement and your vision to understand what you’re looking for.

When a design changes, the price changes. Tattoo quotes are a rough estimate, total cost will be adjusted as needed. We do not offer quotes for entire sleeves or back pieces up front. Large scale projects will likely be quoted by session and can change as the ideas and design develops.

Art.

Our tattoo artists are just that: Artists. They want to give you a lifelong piece of art. If one of our tattoo artists has suggestions on size, placement or composition, please consider what they are saying. We have experienced tattoo artists in our tattoo shop (and a couple newer tattoo artists who are mentored by our experienced artists) who we trust to have your best interests in mind. If you are on a budget let your tattoo artist know, they can work with you to figure out what works best.

Consultation with your tattoo artist.

Pre-pandemic consultations were in person. Now, most of our artists rely on booking request forms for tattoo project proposals. Most tattoos require a form to determine appointment length, unless you come in on a walk in tattoo day (Wednesday and Sunday at noon).

If you are getting a larger, highly detailed, custom piece, or a cover up, an in person consult might still be necessary, depending on tattoo artist.

An in person consultation gives the tattoo artist an opportunity to trace the location of where the tattoo will be going on your body, confirm and discuss design details and give you a price quote (depending on what tattoo artist you are working with). Pricing depends on the tattoo artist you work with.

This is still only a quote. Depending on later changes and how well you sit during the tattoo, the price can change.

At an in person consultation, have any reference pictures to share with your tattoo artist and be prepared to pay your deposit.

Let your tattoo artist know on the form or during the consult if you have any medical conditions such as skin issues, blood borne illness’, or allergies. This will not stop you from getting a tattoo at our shop it only provides us with more information. Our tattoo artists will be able to work with you better and can prepare adequately for the tattoo day, with all the info. If you have any concerns, always consult with your doctor first.

*Hand, neck, feet and face tattoos are done on a case by case basis and at the tattoo artists discretion. An in-person consultation is usually required for these before an appointment can be scheduled.

Deposits for tattoo appointments.

In order to schedule a tattoo appointment we require a deposit. The amount ranges depending on the tattoo and the tattoo artist.

In general deposits go towards the price of your tattoo and they are generally non-refundable. In some cases your deposit is good for as long as it takes to finish the tattoo, other times, it’s one deposit per appointment or session.

Your deposit is non refundable in general but can be forfeited if:

- More than 6 months pass without an appointment made or communication from you

- Rescheduling an appointment more than twice

- Missing a scheduled appointment without notice

- Cancelling or rescheduling an appointment after the 3 day Square cut off

- Excessive drawing changes (at the tattoo artists discretion)

- Cancelling (not rescheduling) after the tattoo artist started your drawing

Our tattoo artists work hard for you and apply hours towards a custom piece. Deposits protect our artists time, labor and schedule investment.

Cancel or reschedule your tattoo appointment.

If you scheduled your tattoo appointment using Square appointments, you can change your own appointment up to three days before the scheduled tattoo day using the information from Square (email and/or text message). If you need to cancel or reschedule closer to time (due to illness or emergency) and Square does not let you, contact the tattoo artist (or their scheduling person) you have the appointment with. Appointments should not be cancelled or rescheduled within those 3 days for avoidable circumstances.

We do want anyone who is sick or not feeling well to reschedule their tattoo appointment. Our tattoo artists will work to get you rescheduled in a timely manner.

We do not want you to feel pressured to get tattooed, even if you already scheduled an appointment. Talk to your tattoo artist if you are nervous or have concerns.

In general, a tattoo deposit is non-refundable, see above.

Tipping your tattoo artist.

Your tattoo artists strives to make your experience exceptional. If you are happy with your tattoo and the service your tattoo artist provided at our tattoo shop, a tip is greatly appreciated. The tattoo artists only receive a percentage of the cost of your tattoo but all of the tip! Tips typically range from 10-30% ($10-30 per hour) but more than that is never a bad thing. A cash tip is preferred, but not necessary. When the tip is cash (even if you purchase the tattoo with a card) it can go straight to your tattoo artist and they don’t have to wait for it.

Another great way to support your tattoo artists and recognize our tattoo shop is to review us on Yelp or Google and share your tattoo and experience on your social media platforms.

We also love getting images from our clients! If you took pictures of the shop, during your appointment, or after (healed images) we would love to have the opportunity to feature them!

If you have questions, comments, or concerns please let us know.
